The book is sci-fi novel by Drew Karpyshyn. It’s a second book from Mass Effect universe. The first book was ME: Revelation, also written by same author. The story of Project Ascension is set after ending events of the first game. This book is also prequel between first and second Mass effect game.
The story is about Cerberus – human illegal organization with there leader The Illusive Man. Paul Gayson, member of Cerberus, is drug addict and he was assigned with raising an infant Gillian, girl with huge biotic power. Gillian is a member of the Ascension Project, project of developing biotic abilites of human race. Grayson, is now a link between his adopted daughter Gillian and Cerberus.
